We’re going to need lots of bread and other sandwich ingredients like slices of ham, turkey, cheese and sandwich bags. We also need ingredients to make bags of trail mix like granola, m&ms, raisins and mixed nuts. So if you signed up, feel free to bring any of these ingredients along with you.

Thursday Dec. 3rd
This is the Laundry Love Project. We’re going to descend on a few Laundromats around the church, and we’re going to pay for some people to get their laundry done. Many people in our community see paying for laundry and detergent as quite a burden that they have to pay for every week or so. We’re going to see to it that a few people don’t have to bear this burden on this Thursday. We’ll meet up at the church, split up into two groups, and go do some laundry. Make sure to bring some quarters along with you and if you’re out buying laundry detergent in the next few days, why don’t you grab a box of powdered detergent while you’re there?
We’ll meet at the church at 6:00, then split up and go to the Laundromats that are close by. Put the last load of laundry in at 7:30, and head back to the church.
Friday Dec. 4th
Grab your painting clothes! We’re going to head out to the Seton Youth Shelters in Virginia Beach to paint some doors and hallways. They will be providing all of the paint and brushes, so you don’t need to worry about that, unless you have a favorite brush that you just can’t live without.
Meet us out there at Seton Youth Shelters, 642 N Lynnhaven Road, Virginia Beach, VA, 23452 at 6:00pm. If you really want to bring something, how about a Wii console? One of the residents took theirs when he left.

Saturday Dec. 5th
Ladies, it’s a baby shower! You’re good at that. That’s why I didn’t plan it. Holly Pendt has taken control of this and she needs your help. Just bring an unwrapped gift that a new mother would need or a bag of diapers for a newborn baby. We’ll be giving all the gifts to the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Chesapeake. So come enjoy some great food, great company and great baby shower games all for a great cause.
The fun starts at 12:00 and lasts until 1:30pm.

Monday Dec. 7th
This Monday, why don’t you just stick around your neighborhood? Just take it easy and visit a few of your neighbors and ask for a few cans of food. Bring them to church on Sunday, and we’ll donate them to the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia.
Tuesday Dec. 8th
Capernaum is an outreach to disabled students. It is a time of food, fun, and a bible study. We’re going to hang out with the students and help out with this awesome ministry. Meet up at the Church of the Messiah at 816 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake VA 23320 at 6:30 and get ready for some serious fun. It all starts at 6:30pm.
Wednesday Dec. 9th
Bring your craft skills, markers and colored pencils for this night of decorating feet. Not real feet. EDMARC children’s hospice in Portsmouth VA sells crafts as a fundraiser, and we’re going to help provide them with some feet to sell. The theme of their fundraiser is “You never walk alone.” So moms, kids, dads, come out and color and glue for a great cause.
We’ll meet at Real Life Christian Church at 6:30 and get started.

Thursday Dec. 10th
This is going to be an all day affair. And it’s going to take a little creativity on your part. Instead of us providing something for you to do, think of some things around your house, your neighborhood, and your workplace that you can do to show God’s love. Is that showing up to work early with a box of donuts, buying coffee for everybody at work, repairing a neighbors fence that was damaged by the Nor’easter? It doesn’t really matter, just serve people, just like we’ve been serving people for the past week.
Friday Dec. 11th
This is going to be a night of fun that goes to a good cause. We’re going to have a bunch of card games, board games, lawn games, and others, along with some good food. Every one needs to bring a gift card with a balance on it. All those gift cards will be consolidated, and given to a local mission.
So invite your friends and your family, bring a deck of cards and your favorite board game and have some great fun for a great cause, but don’t forget your gift card, because security won’t let you in without one.
Meet up at the church at 7:00 and stay until the food runs out.
Saturday Dec. 12th
How come everyone that uses public transportation has to stand at the bus stop? Why can’t a few people get together and build them a bench that, not only will they use, but will look good in the community. We want to build 3 benches and place them at 3 different bus stops so that the people in our community that use public transportation, can have a place to sit.
We are going to decorate them, along with a trashcan so that these benches will not only be useful, but good looking.
Meet up at the church at 10:00 and we’ll get started building and painting some awesome benches.
